Welcome to the Oxford Inn!

Built around the turn of the last century, this lovely home was originally occupied by the family of a local judge. Circa 1980, it was converted into a B&B named Anything Goes, then sold to a painter and renamed The Artful Lodger. I purchased the B&B in April 2013, rebranded it the Oxford Inn, and began an ambitious multi-year plan of restoration and renovation, combining modern convenience and functionality with classic, period-appropriate decore. Now essentially complete, the renovations include refinishing all of the hardwood floors upstairs, and adding a common room in the attic, with kitchenette, dining area, reading nooks, TV, daybed, and spare bathroom. The common areas are an especially attractive feature for larger groups and longer stays (see my special rates). Central air conditioning, wifi, ample parking, and a pleasant walk through scenic Stratford to all of the theatres make your stay here comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable.

With the opening of the new Tom Patterson Theatre, 2020 will be my 8th season hosting. I personally attend to all aspects of the B&B: I'm the greeter, the cook & baker, the waiter & busboy, the room-cleaner, the launderer, the shopper, the gardener & grass-cutter, the bookkeeper & reservation-taker, the website up-dater, the superintendant of maintenance, the interior designer, the carpenter, the framer, the plumber, the drywaller, the painter, the glazier, the roofer... and general dogsbody. You've heard of James Brown, "the hardest working man in R&R;" now meet Grant Brown, the hardest working man in B&B.

Having read philosophy for the DPhil degree at Oxford, I am in the process of scanning, printing, and framing my pictures of the stunning architecture of the university to adorn the walls of the Inn. Between B&B chores, I try to fit in some hiking and reading and writing.

Clean, quiet rooms, comfortable beds with 3-inch memory-foam toppers, and much-praised 3-course breakfasts - what more could you ask for?

To book a room, simply check my availability calendar and complete the reservation request form on this website. I typically confirm reservations within 24 hours. (The most reliable method of requesting a reservation is by email.)

Note: For the Early Season (April 28 to June 20), the first night is the same rate as normal, but additional nights are only $90 for the Carfax & Sheldonian, $100 for the Radcliffe, and $125 for the Bodleian. My "Travelers' Special" applies during the regular season (June 21 to October 17). Prices listed include all applicable taxes and fees.
