The ginger jar was traditionally inscribed with the symbol for health and long life and was given as a gift meant to last a lifetime. May your visit to The Ginger Jar in beautiful Stratford, Ontario, bring you health, long life and the gift of a memory to last forever. The Ginger Jar is a beautiful heritage brick home built in 1880, situated only one block from the famous Avon River. Come and see the graceful Stratford Swans as they glide across the water, stroll to the world famous Stratford Festival Theatres, beautiful downtown Stratford and savour a culinary and cultural experience second-to-none. Your hosts, Carol Purkis and Douglas Gnesda (Mother and son) are world-traveled and the elegant decor reflects our many memories. We look forward to welcoming you to our home and creating new memories.

 We strive to exceed your expectations . Enjoy your visit and the formal living and dining room with cable T.V.   Gourmet coffee and tea available at the serving bar.  Have your coffee on the front porch or back deck with a view of the lake and gardens . No smoking and No pet home

 Check in at 3:00pm, arrangements can be made to drop off luggage before Theatre matinee . Check out is 11:00am Breakfast is 8:30-9:00am and served in the formal dining room, you are welcome to enjoy dining on the front porch, too  Please inform us of food allergies prior to your visit . Parking available on site, you can walk everywhere . Wireless internet connection available,ask us for a password

Cancellation: A 10% administration fee will apply for cancelled reservations

If a reservation is cancelled  less than 30 DAYS in advance  of reservation, deposit is not refundable

Room reservations made less than 30 days before arrival date will be considered firm and non-refundable
